Fear

He heard, in words, his greatest fear. His eyes glossed over and bulged in horror. His face drooped until it fell off his skull and slapped the floor. His heart became an anvil and his stomach broke open, spilling a colorful array of gumballs. They bounced and scattered with a pittering diminuendo. Some rolled into the drainage grate in the center of the room. The reverberations played off the walls and his ears became clogged with bees. He dropped his jaw, and with a painful GACK, let out a mixture of sand and teeth, which poured out of his mouth onto the fleshy mask at his feet.
